Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Hamachi howto
Posted on 23 April 2008 by Stereohype
Welcome to another Hamachi guide! Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a bit trickier to setup then most other games, it works and that’s what really counts. So here is the R6V2 Hamachi fix step by step guide. Since I have explained already how Hamachi works in general, I will keep this guide as brief as possible so you can get into action right away.
Assuming you have installed Hamachi and joined R6V2 network(s) with active users. It is recommended to connect to many networks since this game is new and not everyone knows how to get it working. Also install the latest R6V2 patch. Now the R6V2 Hamachi fix!
To get R6V2 working over Hamachi you need to do 3 things:
Step 1) You need to set the Hamachi adapter as your primary LAN adapter.
Open up the Control Panel. Then open the network connections menu.
At the top bar, under the advanced tab (in Vista press the “alt” key to see the bar) open up the advanced settings menu, then move the Hamachi adapter above your main LAN.

Step 2) Open up the Control Panel, got to Regional and Language Options and change your Location to United Kingdom.

Step 3) Open up the Control Panel. Then open the network connections menu. Right click on the Hamachi adapter and select Properties. Doubleclick TCP/IPv4 and click the Advanced button.
Change the Interface metric from 9000 to 10.

When all this is done you may need to reboot. Also make sure the right ports are open in your router/modem and firewall allows it.
Once you are in the game, go to Versus and select LAN. If someone is hosting you should see a server, otherwise obviously not. Ask people on the network if anyone is hosting, or host yourself and put it in your Hamachi nickname so others know. Don’t be surprised if no one is hosting, just try at a later time.
To disable the intro movies, get the no intro fix. If you haven’t already, get the no dvd crack as well.
Please post your comments/problems and whether or not this works for you.
Hopefully you will be able to join and enjoy the game now!

Works for me and almost all my friends, a problem with one of my friends which can’t get it work even after all the steps, still getting same message, is there something else he should try to do?
Besides, why wouldn’t Ubisoft release a patch fixing it? I need my language settings for my daily work and I need to switch it back and forth just to play the game.

I am having a problem.. me and my friend are trying to play but when one of us try to join it doesn’t show the hosted game.. it says: “NO GAMES FOUND”. We have the same version 1.01.74
I am using a router.. but I have opened all doors in Virtual DMZ
If you think it is the router that is not portfoward well , please tell me what are the UDP and TCP ports.
Thanks
April 28th, 2008 at 8:11 pm
Ports to open for Rainbow Six Vegas 2 are:
TCP 3074 UDP 3074-3174 TCP 10130 UDP 10140

I did all the steps + Port forwarding like it said in the comment above and still i cant find any servers…
I patched to version 1.01.. Still nothing…

@ Chuck and all others: go to http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm and choose your router/modem model to see how to forward the ports

If anyone is having the “Your ethernet cable is not connected” problem then go to control panel and change all language options to english or United Kingdom.

Hi guys… I’m having a problem with step 3!
I don’t have tcpip v4! And if I try to install a protocol…it only lists tcpip v6! How do I get v4!?
Anybody have this prob? I’m on XP..
May 19th, 2008 at 4:05 pm
I have done all the things as mentioned but when I change my metric interface to 10 instead of 9000. Every internet activity stops.. browsing etc. and still I am unable to connect or see servers.
I have to return teh vlaue to 9000 to start my net again. why is that
May 21st, 2008 at 2:06 am
Well Like Dave Said There is no V4 so there is no advanced tab either. Its like impossible to change to 10 from 9000.
May 21st, 2008 at 5:38 pm
@DAve you should be able to install the tcp ip4 protocol from the control panel, add/remove windows components. Also try to run windows update if it’s completely missing from your system.

this trick did not work for me or my friend at all,, but i found another solution,,
update to the newest patch 1.2 for R6 vegas2 then install hamachi version 1.0.1.1,,
this worked for me and my friend like a charm, and i hope it will work for others that have problems with hamachi and rainbow six vegas 2

My friend is able to see my game when i;m hosting, but when he entered the game, I can only see his green icon with no character and he told me that he got this error thingy.. can any1 help pls.. I’m running vista 64 while his is 32 thanks..
May 28th, 2008 at 7:45 pm
Well there is still no server popping up and this is all so confusing. Are there any software like this i can get
May 31st, 2008 at 11:18 pm
If it doesn’s work, try to use older version of Hamachi (I recommend 1.0.1.5). I don’t know what about the latest hamachi versions on Vista, I’m using XP, but if I install Hamachi 1.0.2.0 or newer version, i can’t see any servers, and others can’t find the mine (not only this, every game!).
I think if you play with Hamachi, you should have to enable only the Hamachis’s TCP and UDP port (router and firewall), you can set ports on the Hamachi’s Preferences!
June 8th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
It always says its full or password incorrect! WTF i tried all servers and i did all steps
June 8th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
I can join matchet with hamachi but only with 1 friend, if someone else try to join they cant. anyone else got this problem?! and it would be so much funnier to
