Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Hamachi howto

Posted on 23 April 2008 by Stereohype

rainbow-six-vegas-2Welcome to another Hamachi guide! Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a bit trickier to setup then most other games, it works and that’s what really counts. So here is the R6V2 Hamachi fix step by step guide. Since I have explained already how Hamachi works in general, I will keep this guide as brief as possible so you can get into action right away.

Assuming you have installed Hamachi and joined R6V2 network(s) with active users. It is recommended to connect to many networks since this game is new and not everyone knows how to get it working. Also install the latest R6V2 patch. Now the R6V2 Hamachi fix!

To get R6V2 working over Hamachi you need to do 3 things:

Step 1) You need to set the Hamachi adapter as your primary LAN adapter.
Open up the Control Panel. Then open the network connections menu.
At the top bar, under the advanced tab (in Vista press the “alt” key to see the bar) open up the advanced settings menu, then move the Hamachi adapter above your main LAN.

Step 2) Open up the Control Panel, got to Regional and Language Options and change your Location to United Kingdom.

Step 3) Open up the Control Panel. Then open the network connections menu. Right click on the Hamachi adapter and select Properties. Doubleclick TCP/IPv4 and click the Advanced button.
Change the Interface metric from 9000 to 10.

When all this is done you may need to reboot. Also make sure the right ports are open in your router/modem and firewall allows it.

Once you are in the game, go to Versus and select LAN. If someone is hosting you should see a server, otherwise obviously not. Ask people on the network if anyone is hosting, or host yourself and put it in your Hamachi nickname so others know. Don’t be surprised if no one is hosting, just try at a later time.

To disable the intro movies, get the no intro fix. If you haven’t already, get the no dvd crack as well.

Please post your comments/problems and whether or not this works for you.
Hopefully you will be able to join and enjoy the game now!

Works for me and almost all my friends, a problem with one of my friends which can’t get it work even after all the steps, still getting same message, is there something else he should try to do?
Besides, why wouldn’t Ubisoft release a patch fixing it? I need my language settings for my daily work and I need to switch it back and forth just to play the game.

I am having a problem.. me and my friend are trying to play but when one of us try to join it doesn’t show the hosted game.. it says: “NO GAMES FOUND”. We have the same version 1.01.74

I am using a router.. but I have opened all doors in Virtual DMZ
If you think it is the router that is not portfoward well , please tell me what are the UDP and TCP ports.

@ Chuck and all others: go to http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm and choose your router/modem model to see how to forward the ports
