emule link site fileheaven.org has moved domain name and server

A few days back we reported that the popular edonkey2000 hash link site fileheaven.org had been offline for a period of time, well the forum is back online at the new domain of www.fileheaven.info. This is good news as fileheaven has proven to be a diamond in the edonkey/emule community with actually having long term active registered users and quality content.
Looking around the edonkey2000 community in 2007 can be a bleak journey. In this time larger sites have come and gone and come again in some cases ShareReactor, ShareConnector but overall the community seems to have fragmented into smaller sites scattered around the web.
So far though fileheaven seems to have escaped the radar of the RIAA and MPAA for many a year which is unusual for a filesharing site. TurnIP made this announcement below at the fileheaven forums regarding the downtime.

There are mainly 2 reasons why we decided to find a new place to host FH:
1) During the past year we had a few downtime’s, mostly for trivial reasons (except the hdd crash), some of them lasting up to 4 weeks only because our former host didn’t respond to our emails. Also there was a period when we couldn’t access the server for months because our password was changed without informing us…. In the long run, this is not a reliable situation for a community forum.
2) The bandwidth we had at our former host was limited and could not be increased. This meant that occasional re-opening the forum for new registrations was no longer possible, and we didn’t like that very much. Our goal is not to grow big, but we do feel it is a good thing to have some “fresh blood” from time to time.
As of yet new registrations are still not being accepted which is a shame as fileheaven has some great content listed on the site. When registrations open once more you can be sure P2PViNE will announce the news.

I have been doing a lot of reading and adding feeds to my http://www.Bloglines.com account. Bloglines has been a huge timesaver as a way to organize all of the feeds. I can’t wait for the school year to start and read about what everyone is doing via their blogs. Thanks!
